Social/Emotional: Wednesday is a little shy but can be handled. She is curious, intelligent and very food/treat motivated. She takes snacks from us and enjoys fresh foraging herbs/flowers every few days. We freely give Chinchilla Pellet Food, water and a mix of Timothy Hay and Orchard Grass at all times.
Special Adoption Accommodations: Part of adoption will require some planning and accommodations on your part: chinchillas CANNOT get too hot. They must have access to Air Cooling in the hot months along with cooling stones. Otherwise they will overheat in temperatures over 75 degrees maximum. They need dust baths 2-3 times per week. Their living space should be a large safe enclosure with lots of toys, a 16" or larger solid metal running wheel. The bar spacing being no more than 1" in width or solid, like the Clearly Loved Pets Enclosure. You will need to have a cover on it. We will send home a care guide at adoption outlining basics and we are happy to help upon adoption to ensure a good home.
