I’m happy to help anyone who is new to owning a hedgehog. When you have the correct living space for them, they are relatively easy to manage. Our 13 year old daughter has a hedgehog.
Bonded hedgehogs are not as common so this is a unique opportunity! These sweet girls came to us due to a family emergency for placement.

Hedgehogs need:
- enclosure with tall sides and a solid bottom, as much space to run and climb as possible. They are very active at night.
- running wheel at is at least 10"
- corner litterbox
- heat lamp with ceramic bulb
- hide, tunnel or dark sleep space
- paper bedding, potty pads or fleece lining
- toys to play with like balls and rolly type items
- waterbottle
- low food bowl
- proper food. We recommend Inception Chicken Cat Food. It is one of the best foods on the market that is balanced for hedghog's needs. You can get it on Amazon for $15/4lbs and it lasts 3-4 months. We DO NOT recommend any of the commercially available foods labeled for Hedgehogs. Even the most popular ones.
- Dry bugs like mealworms, crickets, grasshoppers, Black Soldier Fly Larvea. We buy: Fluker's Culinary Coop Premium Chicken Treats, Dried Insect Trail Mix, 10 oz. It's about $8 and lasts 3-4 months.
The girls will come with transition food, toys and a carrier for transport.
