Boarding Process:

  1. Read the boarding page so you know what to expect and understand the process.
  2. Submit a Boarding Request Form at the bottom of this page.
  3. We will respond to your request within 72 hours and let you know if we are able to accommodate and go over details as needed. 
  4. Once your request is confirmed you can schedule your drop off and pick up dates by booking both appointments online. 
  5. Once your dates are booked you can pay for services. 
  6. You're ready for Drop off.
Boarding is very limited. We guarantee boarding requests for 72 hours. Once you get your confirmation email you have 72 hours to book your appointments and pay for your boarding services in order to reserve your space. After 72 hours you will need to reverify your accommodations with us.  All requested services need to be paid by their drop off day.

Boarding Rates

Bunny Stay: 
Our Bunny Rooms are $15 per day for the first bunny, plus $10 per day for each additional bunny that share the same space. If your bunnies require separate rooms then their boarding is separated.
For example: You need 5 days of boarding for two bonded bunnies then you are booking one bunny room for 2 bunnies at $25 per day, which is $125 total. or You need 3 days for 2 bonded bunnies plus 1 unbonded bunny then you are booking two bunny rooms at $25 per day plus $15 per day, which is $160 total.
  • 1 Bunny - $15/day per room

  • 3 Bunnies - $35/day per room
  • 4 Bunnies - $45/day per room
Guinea Pig Stay: 
We offer boarding for guinea pigs at $5 per day for the first guinea pig, plus $4 per day for each additional guinea pig that share the same space. If your guinea pigs require separate spaces their boarding is separated.

Grooming Services While Boarding

  • We have offered free nail trims for many years. Beginning Summer 2025 we are now including full grooming services for free while boarding with us. So if we see basic needs that need to be addressed, like molting and shedding, brushing, gunky scent glands, long nails, etc... we will take care of it.

Pick Up & Drop Off

  • You are responsible for transport to and from our location in Beaverton, OR. 
  • ​Please bring your pet in a secure carrier or crate. 
  • Please arrive during your appointment reservation time slot. Contact us if you need to change your time or are running late.

Special Needs & Medication Management:
We offer advanced care at no extra cost including but not limited to: medication administration, medication management, diet restrictions and special accommodations, mobility limitations like hind limb paralysis and blindness, senior/end of life care, aggression and behavior modification/socialization and more. We aim to give each family a place to bring their beloved bunny (or guinea pig) anytime they need. For us it's more than providing food, water and shelter. It's providing safety, consistency and care unique to their needs. Whether it's a weekend or a month they will get spoiled and loved. We are also happy to help with recommendations on care, medical or behavioral needs, and other family support/questions. 

There are a few things we have incorporated over the years to keep things organized on our end and improve how we communicate with families. On their first and last day with us we do full health assessments. We use a Boarding Report Card and will send it home with you. We document and note their care. If they have medication we do use a Medication Management Care Sheet.

We get a lot of families who are new to boarding or simply have anxiety around leaving their pets. Please let us know how we can best support you so we can all have healthy established boundaries around communication. We care about how your pets feel but we also care about how you feel. We believe it's important that everyone's expectations are clear right away but if something comes up along the way, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We get pretty busy and have a full schedule, so unless you ask for updates ahead of time or there's an emergency, we don't typically bother moms and dads while their fur babies are here. Many families are over seas, working, traveling or on vacation and often do not have cell signal. 

Helpful information:
  • If you need boarding in less than 5 days from today's date please send us a direct message. We can usually accommodate this.
  • ​Submit a boarding request form, up to 3 individuals can be put on one form.
  • You are welcome to bring anything special that you feel would help them be comfortable during their stay. For example, their favorite blanket, bed or toy.
  • We offer sanitized litterboxes with pine pellets. (If your bunny prefers a different type of litter, please bring enough litter for their stay).
  • Only bonded animals who normally live together will be socialized together. Due to health and safety we do not comingle boarders.
  • We do offer daily fruits/veggies/herbs/treats. Please include preferences on your boarding form.
  • We offer water in a large ceramic bowl or a water bottle. If you bunny has preferences please let us know.

Boarding After Adoption

  • We offer boarding if you cannot pick up your rabbit(s) within 7 days of adoption or once they turn 8 weeks old. 
  • Example: you adopt your bunny on April 1st but cannot pick up until April 15th. You would need to pay for boarding from April 8th-15th, which is 7 days. 
  • Example: You reserve a bunny on December 1st, they turn 8 weeks old and ready for pick up on December 20th but 3rd party transport will not pick up until January 20th. You would need to pay for boarding from December 28th-January 20th, which is 24 days.
  • We give a discounted rate of $5 per night per bunny. Beginning on day 8 until pick up/transport picks up.

    We feed pellet food based on what it is, your bunny's age, weight and the overall health of your bunny unless you indicated other Special Accommodations in their profile. IE: 1/4 cup pellets per day.
    • Please Note: We will not give any fruit, some high carbohydrate veggies (carrots/broccoli, etc) and many commercial treats to any bunny in our care unless it's medically necessary. IE: Pineapple can aid in preventing wool block. These items are a leading cause of GI Stasis. We aim for the least stressful experience possible.
    • We are happy to give safe greens/veggies and treats if they are part of their current diet.
    • Chew toys, sticks, carboard and similar are not food items and can be given freely to bunnies.
    • Pets have unlimited access to fresh water and hay.

    Personal Items:
    • We are happy to complete any other grooming services during their stay. Just add the requested grooming services to your cart when you check out and pay for your boarding stay.
    TERMS OF SERVICE:
    In order to reserve your space, payment is due for your reservation. Once your boarding request has been accepted or you were preapproved for boarding, you can make payment through the Our Service Tab. Boarding fees are none refundable and reservations for boarding are first come first serve. You are reserving space that is very limited. If you need to change your dates or cancel we would be happy to accommodate a different boarding in the future. If we can adjust dates we are happy to do so if we have space available.

    Your pet will receive a health assessment on the first and last day of care including taking photos of your pet and creating a written health profile. Your pet has ongoing monitoring while in our care. We will give preventative, palliative and emergency care to the best of our ability. In emergencies we will make quick, professional decisions if life saving measures are needed and often consult a Licensed Veterinarian. For day to day care, grooming issues or minor wounds and non-emergencies we will assess, give first aid and contact you for further steps. In consideration of any risks associated with pet animal boarding, transport, traveling, or out of home care, each pet owner agrees at the time of this request to maintain all liability of their pet and assume all risks. Shady Grove Rabbitry and all those associated at all locations, are not liable for any type of injury, illness or death. Animals are living beings and are unpredictable. You agree to maintain all liable for any personal or pet veterinarian or medical costs or bills of any kind, including legal costs, for any reason during any point for your pet.
