Spaying & Neutering Pet Rabbits

Getting your bunny fixed can help them stay healthier longer. It can also help eliminate hormonal behaviors. I recommend waiting until a bunny is at least 6 months old and over 2lbs before having them fixed. I absolutely recommend doing a vet consult prior to deciding if having your bunny fixed is necessary for your particular bunny. Not all bunnies need to be fixed. Many live healthy, long lives with their reproductive organs in tact.

Milner Animal Hospital in Oregon City, OR is highly recommended.
Dr. Alex is the rabbit specialist there and typically charges around $200 for a neuter. Spay is a bit more because it’s more invasive for females.

You can also use this website from Rabbit Advocates to locate Rabbit Savvy Vets in your area. We cannot guarantee your satisfaction with any vet. Please call vets and talk to the doctor and/or staff before making your initial appointment.
