Social/Emotional: Posy came to us nursing her daughter Ellie. After confirming Ellie's gender we were excited for her to be a girl, as this would mean she could continue a bonded relationship with her mom after weaning if it was a good fit for them. Thankfully it has been! Posy is a very loving mom and has taken amazing care of Ellie. Even as a single baby. Both of the girls are so adorable and laid back. Ellie is adventurous and likes to bop around and get into things. Ellie is shy at first with new people but quickly warms up and accepts treats from us.
Does well with:
- Females or Neutered Male Rabbits: The girls could be bonded with other females is a family wanted. They are bonded together.
- Adults: Yes
- Young or Inexperienced Children: With help
- Older or Experienced Children: Yes
- Dogs (all sizes): Yes
- Dogs that respect space/well behaved/no prey drive: Yes
- Dogs that are overly affectionate/hyper/behavior issues that are not easily modified: No.
Health:
- Dental: Healthy without issue.
- Face/Eyes/Ears: Healthy without issue.
- Feet/Nails: Healthy, we do recommend regular nail trims every 3-4 weeks.
- Overall/Fur/Skin: Healthy without issue.
- Litter Box Behavior: We've introduced a litterbox and she's doing well with it.
- Other: Posey is from a group of bunnies that were found and pregnant. The bystander temporarily cared for the bunnies until they were brought in for medical care and adoption. She came to us underweight and nursing. She is on a free feed diet with supplements for weight gain and milk production. She will need to be on a free feed diet for 6 months and then taper off to 1/4 cup pellets per day with unlimited hay (alfalfa/timothy/orchard mix currently) and water.
- Update 5.18 - Posy has weaned her baby Ellie and both are on a free feed pellet and hay diet. Both are doing amazing!
